Your Psalm

You may think singing a new song to the LORD is mentioned dozens of times throughout Scripture. Would it surprise you if, in fact, it is present only six?

  • Psalm 33:3 with a new song, sing to Him; with shouts of joy, play skillfully.
  • Psalm 96:1 Sing a new song to the LORD! Sing to the LORD, all the earth!
  • Psalm 98:1 A psalm. Sing to the LORD a new song, for He has done awesome deeds! His right hand and powerful arm have brought Him victory.
  • Psalm 144:9 GOD, I will sing a new song to You. On a harp of ten strings I will play to You—
  • Psalm 149:1 Hallelujah! Sing a new song to the LORD, praising Him where the godly gather together.
  • Isaiah 42:10 Sing to the LORD a new song, and His praise from the ends of the earth, you who sail down the sea and by everything in it, you coastlands and their inhabitants.
  • These six Bible verses are where we encounter worshippers proclaiming "sing a new song." When discovering this I was so surprised and sought The LORD in prayer asking, “why do I only see this six times in Your Word LORD, wouldn’t it be better, perfect, if it were listed seven times?” and I’m not kidding I almost felt as if the LORD chuckled as He replied to my question…..He said, “Will, what makes it complete, what makes it perfect is your song.”

There is a song of thanksgiving that the heart of a believer sings in private worship for being called, being chosen, being considerd, amen.. a round of repentance from the failing strength of the redeemed that reaches the very Throne Room of the Almighty, a crying out that joins an eternal chorus, "Holy! Holy! Holy is He!"

The faithful heart responding back to GOD in love is His desire.

Wow! Now there’s one more reason to worship with purpose, amen.
