Worship with Purpose
What does GOD's Word say about worship?
Many would be quick to respond with Jesus's own words from the Gospel of John:
In this verse Jesus is actually responding to a point raised about worship by a Samaritan woman. It is no coincidence that a primary teaching on worship occurs by Jesus responding to a question. Likewise worship is our response to the Father as He asks of us in trial and triumph, in moments and across the measure of our days, "Do you love Me?"
A great friend and mentor in The LORD, William 'Skip' Langley, shared with me a fantastic truth; a question actually that I often pose to pastoral worship teams and congregations, "Does your worship need a 180?"...if your concern is with getting goose bumps or being personally stirred...then your focus is on yourself and not the Living GOD; worship is about giving goose bumps to HIM and allowing the Holy Spirit to be moved.
